Delete your Expencil account
This page is for Expencil: Expense Tracker — the Expencil app on Android, iOS and the web (app.expencil.com), operated by Sasan Ebrahimi - Oriexai Solutions (see the Impressum). You can delete your account and the data associated with it yourself, at any time, without contacting anyone. The deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Delete your account now, right in the browser — no app needed:
The page at app.expencil.com/delete-account signs you in, shows you exactly what will be deleted, and completes the deletion right there.
Two ways to delete
- In the app (web, Android or iOS): go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Without the app: open app.expencil.com/delete-account in any browser — for example after you have uninstalled the app.
Both ways ask you to confirm with your password and a typed confirmation word, then delete the account immediately. If you have trouble — for instance you no longer remember your password — use password reset first, or email support@expencil.com from your account's email address and we will help.
What is deleted immediately
Your login, your profile (name, email address and language), your personal space with all its expenses, recurring definitions, categories, payment methods and budgets, your memberships in shared spaces and groups, your app roles, your subscription records, and every invitation addressed to your email address. Usage events we record for product statistics are anonymized at the same moment — the reference to your account is removed and only the aggregate remains (these events are deleted after 12 months in any case).
What stays, and for how long
Expenses and payments you recorded in shared spaces or groups that belong to other people remain part of that space's or group's bookkeeping, shown as “Deleted user” — without your name or email address. Shared spaces and groups you own are handed over to their longest-standing member; if nobody else is in them, they are deleted with your account. Invoices for a paid subscription that were already issued are retained by our payment provider Stripe for as long as tax law requires, and nowhere else.
If you have a paid subscription
A paid subscription ends immediately when you delete your account. Payments already made are not refunded; your statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of purchase is unaffected (see the Terms of Service, section 7).
Full details on data, retention and your rights are in the Privacy Policy.
